Sheepy Socks

I told you that I have been busy knitting this month!  Not only the 2 stockings, but also a pair of socks have been started:
Sheepy Socks by CountryWool
Aren't these so cute!  I love these socks and have been planning on knitting them for many years.  I was inspired to get started after a lovely weekend with their designer, Claudia of CountryWool.  The moon and stars must have aligned just right because I was finally able to get back to another of Claudia's Knitting Retreats this month.  In the past her knitting retreats have resulted in the lovely nordic sweater:

(Click here if you forgot the details of my favorite sweater)
And another of Claudia's wonderful designs, my Faroe Vine Cardigan:
(Click here for details on this lovely sweater)
So I managed to sneak away from this retreat with only a pair of socks on the needles.  Haa!  If you believe that, you do not know me very well.  I can't go into details about what I began on the retreat because I am blocking it from my mind so I can finish the kids Christmas stockings.  But here's a sneak peek until I can get back to it in December...

Natural Dye Studio yarns

I have been so busy knitting I haven't shared pictures of the shop's newest yarn shipment:
Angel Sock yarn

Angel 2ply Lace yarn

I am so excited about this yarn and company.   I was first introduced to the Natural Dye Studio yarns when I knit my "Saviano" socks:

Natural Dye Studio is located in the UK, so their lovely plant-dyed yarns are hard to come by here in the USA.  So I am very happy to now be carrying Angel Sock and Angel 2ply Lace.  This yarn is so soft and the colors are incredible.  I can't wait to knit lace with the Angel Lace.

Stockings #2: Secrets

I have also started a 2nd stocking.  This one is "Secrets" for Madison:

I am currently on the heel flap of this stocking.  I hope to have this complete by the 1st-2nd week of November.  That will leave me a few weeks to do the 3rd and final stocking for this year, for my daughter Grace.  She can't decide which one she likes best so I haven't even begun hers yet...

Knitting Stockings...

It feels like it has been forever since I last blogged.  I have had very good knitting energy and have been putting it to good use so I have lots to share over the next few days.  I had mentioned before that I really wanted to knit the kids' stockings this year and so it has begun!  I started with 'Forest' for Carter.  Here is what the kit content looks like:

And here is my progress this month:

Just the foot to finish!  I have found the instructions and charts easy to work with and I LOVE the design. This stocking should be finished during the 1st week of November.
