Just in, we have recieved the newest color from Woolganics. Introducing Krishna:

A very pretty, light robin-egg blue. To give some color perspective, here it is lined up with the other Woolganic blues:

New yarn shipment!

Sea Silk from Hand Maiden: 70% Silk, 30% Seacell®. Haven't planned my project yet because I have too many WIPs going right now, but I am inspired to finish some projects so I can get knitting with these yarn!

A new color in WOOLganic DK weight and we now have it in stock! Also back in stock: Raindrop and Leura Worsted Weight. Come see....

New yarn!!!

I am so excited about this. I am happy to announce that we have partnered with a great new company: Australian Organic Wool! We now have all colors in stock in 2 weights: DK/8 ply and Worsted/10 ply. I LOVE this yarn. It is a super soft merino spun with a slightly increased twist to reduce pilling. And it's organic: the sheep are raised organically, the wool is washed using a biodegradable detergent, the wool is spun in a mill specifically certified to handle organic fibers, and lastly, they use metal-free dyes in fabulous colors. Take a look...

I have been searching for a line of solid color wool and I really couldn't be happier. I have been playing with this yarn for a while now and I can't tell you how soft it is. You can easily wear this wool against your skin. I made a pair of fingerless mitts with this yarn last month and have been really impressed on how this yarn handles. It is easy to knit with, has great stitch definition, and really has very little pilling. CLICK HERE for all of the yarn details.

I am in heaven!

New Yarns

I added some new yarns today. I can't wait to work with them! And the colors are incredible.

Misc Monday

It’s “Misc Monday” here at BuzzandFuzz: a day to tie up loose ends. Today’s loose end is my “Twined Sweetheart Mittens”. But first, an announcement…

I got a shipment of Fleece Artist “Blue Face Leicester Aran” in this morning (7 colorways)! I love this yarn. It’s a great all-around wool and my favorite wool for twined knitting (even though it is “S” twist and not “Z” twist). It is so soft and the colors are gorgeous. I can’t wait to work on some designs with this yarn. Click here to order some for yourself!

Done with the shameless advertising, now on to the knitting. I finished up these mittens last month:

I am really happy with how they came out. The picture doesn’t do a very good job of showing the detail, so I tried to hand draw a sketch (I know, I’m not an artist):

The Mora yarn takes on new life after soaking and blocking. I would imagine that these mittens will become even nicer with time and handling. I wrote the pattern for sizes woman’s small – men’s Xlarge. The XL men’s mittens used exactly 1 skein of Mora yarn. I have a few skeins of Mora available as kits with the pattern: click here.

And because it is “Misc Monday”, here is a random question: Are you a football fan? If so, College, Pro, or both? My answer: I am a huge Pro football fan. It’s what I look forward to in the fall. I love knitting on Sundays while watching the game.
